Day 10

After shooting The lantern we continued our walk along the shoreline as the city was starting to wake up. The sun was up by now only barely and still the fog was holding its ground. I was trying to capture some pelicans taking their morning bath and having finished with them I headed back to the car to pack my camera.

No sooner than I reached the car I heard the motor of a boat approaching and thought " :phew: I managed to take the shot of the birds before they get scared by the boat and take off". To my surprise this small boat headed my way and after the fisherman "killed" the engine it stayed right under the tree looking for something. Apparently the nets were set the day before and today was time to pick them up with whatever fish they had in.

I am kind of proud of this shot cause I rarely include people in my scenes. it isn't that I don't like it, it is just that I don't know how to handle them. This picture though was laid in front of my by itself and all I had to do was to set my tripod again, compose and take the shot. I kind of did it in a hurry cause the fisherman wasn't going to wait for me so I had to crop the end result a bit and remove a rock in the foreground that affected the balance of the picture. I hope you can forgive me that.

Hope you like it
