Day 11

The last station has two meanings in this case. This is the last outpost of Greek land at the North West, the land you can see at the back is Albania. it was also our last station cause this shot was taken the day we had to return back home. We have spent the night there at a beautiful guest house and it was snowing all night. We woke up before sunrise as usual knowing that the sun wasn't going to show but for 10 days he have been so used to doing that we have reached a point that we didn't even need alarm clocks.

The original plan was to walk along the tiny village of Psarades, which translates to (fisherman) in English, and take some shots of the old houses that stood there. As usual in that trip no matter what the plan was something else always came up and in this case I noticed a hint of light breaking through the clouds. Grabbed my tripod and rushed to that floating jetty and composed. Long exposure tends to saturate colours more but too long would mean the boats would move even though the water was completely still. So no ND filters used just a small aperture for maximum Depth Of Field. I did use a ND graduated filter though to make the clouds stand out against the foreground.

For me my photographic journey started with snow in "Sleepy River" and ended with snow. When I look at those two pictures loads of memories rush back through me of a wonderful time and I wish for many more. After all Easter is approaching
